As the second busiest city of Sri Lanka, Kandy offers lots of possibilities in terms of hotels. You can choose to stay in the heart of the city in one of its hundred of guesthouses or decide to relax a little bit outside to enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere. This is why we decided to go for the Sky Pavilion on the hills of the city... Have a look and take a breath on the panorama.

Sky Pavilion is a boutique hotel, located on a hill overlooking the city, only 10 minutes drive in Tuk Tuk.
The hotel gave us a room on the top floor, which was great as we benefited from a 180° panorama, with an amazing view on the city and the surrounding nature. This is quite impressive to realize that such a buzzling city can actually be surrounded by so many trees and forests. You are far from the noise of the city and this is really relaxing.
The other great advantage to be on the top floor is that you can enjoy a semi private rooftop, to be shared with only another room. The staff can also serve the breakfast on this terrace, to enjoy a more intimate moment, outside with fresh air, with a such an amazing view.
Otherwise, breakfast and diner can be served in the dining room with an elegant and refine decoration. Breakfast was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Delicious fresh fruits, eggs prepared according to your favorite style, etc...
Regarding the bedrooms, decoration is also very elegant and pure. A white atmosphere like beeing in a Spa, to inspire purity. Bathroom is modern and amenities are good quality.
The hotel also features a swimming pool, which is actually share with the hotel next door. At the evening, the swimming pool is under the shadow, which makes it a bit fresh.
What also makes the difference at the Sky Pavilion is the kindnest of the staff. Everytime you miss something, which usually happens very often in hotels in Sri Lanka as they are still learning few things about european or occidental standards, the staff will always make its upmost to satisfy your needs. With such a devoted service, you always forget these few little things that does not matter.
Average rate in July is around 150 € per night.
Sky Pavillon was one of the hotels we really appreciated in Sri Lanka and I recommend it for sure.
