Serenity in your luxury pool villa at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Mexico

This luxury resort, located few kilometers before Playa del Carmen, provides private villas with their own pool overlooking mangrove and lush vegetation. Banyan Tree Mayakoba is an integrated resort that preserves nature and ecosystem. If you are looking for privacy, serenity and excellence, this is definitly the place to book for your next mexican retreat. 

The staff knows how to welcome you and make you feel special. As soon as you step into the hotel, you will be greeted not only with refreshing towels and drinks but aslo with a beautiful flower bracelet. 

Your private luxury villa
Once you arrive in your villa, you will feel completly alone with no view on the other villas. 

To relax and enjoy fresh air, the villa is eqquiped with lounge beds and shady areas.

     

Bedroom : 
Thanks to huge windows, the villa is bathing into daylight so you feel even more connected to  nature. Decoration is an elegant blend of asian and mexican touches. My villa was a one bedroom but the resort features also multiple bedroom villas for families.

     

The room is equipped with a hammock, perfect for little naps or ending your night in the mangrove :) 

LCD TV will welcome you with a very chic and relaxing music. This music was so soothning, I did not switch it off until I went to bed !

Luxury bathrooms : 
Bathrooms are stunning, with luxury materials, rainfall showers and outdoor soaking bathtubs. Little asian touches such as Banyan Tree amenities and a kimono are provided.

     

     

Main swimming pool

Private pools are perfect to refresh yourself in total intimacy whenever you want, but I would suggest to test the peaceful main swimming pool : light blue heated water surrounded by palm trees and vegetation along with birds warbling. What else can you ask ? Maybe a cocktail at the pool bar ;)

     

The Beach Club : The Sand Restaurant

If you are more a beach personn, three options to get there : a little boat tour that will take you to the beach through the mangrove, golf car or a little bike ride. Each villa comes with bikes, I loved this option as it enabled to explore the domain and its golfs. 

Five minutes bike ride and you arrive at the Sands restaurant, which is the beach club. This whitesand beach is georgous, a little paradise to feel the caribbean breeze and admire turquoise water.

     

First option is a lounge bed on the sand, more or less close to the beach club so you can choose your degree of intimacy. If you are looking for some authenticity, of course you will find some typical mexican sunshades !

          

Second option is by the pool for more proximity to the poolbar and the restaurant (where they serve by the way enormous fishes, catch of day....)

Cocktail were delicious, my favorite one was the passion fruit martini ! But the mango one was quite a good option !

     

For other recreations, the hotel provides wide golf courses and a luxury spa among the best of Mexico. 

Bar La Copa

After few hours under the sun, let's start the evening at the tasteful bar La Copa, a rooftop lounge. Decoration is very elegant, with fine materials, flowers and pieces of arts. A very good spot to enjoy sunset atmosphere. 

     

Restaurants and In room-dining :
The resort has several dining options, such as Saffron Thai restaurant or western style Tamarind. For my part, I chose to be lazy and went for room-dining with local mexican food : nachos, guacamole and fajitas ! Food was served on a traditional mexican napkin.

Breakfast at restaurant l'Oriente : 

Finally, time for breakfast at Oriente restaurant with excellent and fresh products. The layout of the items was a beautiful scenary. Original juice of the day was offered : mint and watermelon during my stay. Organic, continental, american or mexican style, no doubt, your tastebuds will be more than satisfied. Champagne or eggs à la carte are the little details that make the difference. 

     

     

     

  

This stay was one of the best among my travel experiences. Luxury, elegance, serenity and, most of all, extreme kindness of the staff were the keys of a memorable stay.
