James Bond Tour in Phang Nga Bay, Phuket, Thailand

James Bond Island is one of the tour not to be missed when staying in Phuket... Enjoy a boat tour in the Phang Nga Bay and reach the famous rock where "The man with a golden gun" was shot !

My advise is definitly to book the tour on a speed boat to avoid these crowed excursions you can find in Thailand. This is a bit more expensive but you will not be more than 20 people onboard, which is fairly enough !

James Bond island is nestled in the Phang Nga bay in Andaman sea, south of Thailand. This activity can be easily booked from any resort in Phuket, the driver will pick you up at your hotel. 

First, you will enjoy the cruise around the hundreds of rocks and islands, such a typical thaï landscape...

First stop of the tour will be a canoe ride to explore the emeraude water of the charming creeks of the bay. 

Second stop will lead you to the famous James Bond island where the movie was shot. 

     

After a little walk, enjoy finally a nice view on this well known rock. The challenge is to take to picture without other tourists, as you can imagine, you will not be alone on the island...

Some people can say they disapointed by the size of the rock. You are not here to see skycrapers, aren't you ? :)

Lunch will take place in a famous muslim fishing village on pilotis. Arrival to this village is quite lovely, but to be honest, this is mainly a concentration of restaurants and shops to welcome the hundreds of tourists per day. A little shopping can be done over there, but nothing extraordinary. 

During the afternoon, the speed boat (check the below pic, this was our boat !) will guide you to an hidden beach where you will visit a cave. Headlamps are provided, great style ;)

Finally, the tour will end to Naka island with its white sand beach and blue crystal water. A little nap with some refreshment make it a nice way to end the day !

To sum up, of course you will not avoid the other tourists of the region. But this is the game when you want to discover famous spots... For my part, I enjoyed the tour which enabled me to discover typical thaï landscapes, exactly what I had in mind... Rocks, creeks and emerald water... Have fun !
