Chichen Itza is a former Mayan City located between Merida and Valladoid in Yucatan Peninsula. This UNESCO World Heritage site is approx. 2h30 drive from Cancun and worths the round trip. Chichen Itza is one of the most visited archaelogical site in Mexico. The site is not huge and the visit can be done within 1 hour if you do not take a guided tour. The 24 meters pyramid is impressive and counts 365 steps, exactly the same number of days in a year....
