JW Marriott Marquis Dubaï, the world's tallest hotel

Dubaï is well known for its  hundred of hotels and for having the highest towers among the world. Of course, there was no other way that Dubaï has the tallest hotel on Earth... called JW Marriott Marquis Dubaï.

Location :
The hotel is located in the business bay, surrounded by lots of other buildings. The area is quite convienient to visit the old and new Dubaï. There is even a free shuttle from the hotel to Dubaï mall and the Burj Khalifa, you are dropped there in less than 5 minutes.

Arrival and check in :
Even though the hotel has more than 1600 rooms, the staff is very warm and makes you feel welcome has a special guest. The lobby is huge (and a bit busy in the evening), and the high ceiling is quite impressive. Your journey into the hotel will start with beautiful flowers and three local portraits.

The front office is a yellow lighting wall, which makes it quite modern. Lots of counters are available, therefore the queue should not be too long (or maybe I was quite lucky !)

Guestrooms :
You will then check in in Tower A or B among the 1608 hotel rooms.

Try to get the highest floor as possible for a better view. But the highest you will be the longest you will have to wait for your elevator ! Do not be in rush for your meeting or do not forget anything in your room ! Anyway, you will enjoy a seaview or a building view room. My room had a amazing view on the Burj Khalifa from where you can admire the different sunset colors. No doubt, you really feel in Dubaï.

The rooms are really spacious with very good quality materials, which makes it luxury. Lights and air conditionning are controlled by a hand touch tablet, state of the art technology ;)

The bathroom features a rain shower cabin, a relaxing modern bathtub and a very large miroir for your confort.

Swimming pool :
It is now pool time ! The pool is normally heated, however, the week I was there was quite windy and the swimming pool was no more 24 or 25 degrees I would say, perfect for an energic swim ! What I love from the swimmingpool is the incredible view on the Burj Khalifa, a way to visit the city from the pool :)

Lots of different areas and sunbeds are available, you can choose between sun and shadow, confort and intimacy or closer to the pool, etc...

I always love to have snack or lunch at the pool and usually order a classic ceasar salad. To be honest, this one was generous but a bit too fat for an european girl. The cocktail was colorfull and refreshing but nothing exceptionnal.

Breakfast :
The hotel has to take care of 1 000 guests who will start their day with breakfast. Therefore, believe me, restaurant Kitchen 6 is huge ! Dubaï is the crossroads of so many nationalities, they have to offer  a wide variety of breakfast. Indian, arabic, chinese, american, european style, all kind of breakfast is available. Breakfast is displayed on at least 5 stations or corners. If you want to taste everything, 15 minutes at least to fill  in your plates are necessary and you will walk ! As a european person, I am not a big fan of huge places like this, but I have to admit, the variety is impressive and every one can be satisfied.

Lobby Bar :
The ground floor bar is perfect for a coffee or a tea time during a business meeting. Lots of art and intimate corners make it very elegant and gives you some privacy despite the size of the venue. I really loved the colorfull wall that features over 1300 bottles.

Restaurants :
The Hotel JW Marriot Marquis Dubaï has 12 places for dining, the real issue will be to decide where to eat!
During my stay, I have tested the Farine, the french restaurant, and the Positano, the italian one.
La Farine is located on the lobby level and is a comtemporary café where you can enjoy a real baguette and french cuisine. You can also order some take away to have it in your room or buy some beautiful cakes. For my part, I went for a Quiche Lorraine. As a european girl,  I found it a bit heavy and fat but the taste was there. They also have a lovely bar, very cozy, very chic and elegant as a parisian bar would have been.

The Positano restaurant is the italian option, buffet style. Ravioli, pasta, pizza, mozzarella, italian cheese, chocolate and creamy dessert.

The Vault :
Finally, on the 71st and 72nd floor, you will find the Vault, a very elegant restaurant with an amazing view on Dubaï and the Burj Khalifa. You can end the day at the Club until 3am. The place was quite trendy with good music. It is quite incredible to dance in the sky with a view on skycrapers !

To sum up I recommend the JW Marriott Marquis Dubaï for :

- Amazing views from the pool
- Location
- Beautiful luxury rooms
- Large choice of dining options
- Great night Club
